Emma started her career after receiving a massage from a nurse in the hospital in 1991. Pain medication was not helping but the massage did! In 1992, she attended school in Topeka, Kansas and took a course in massage therapy from Texas Instructor, Maggie Kelly. In 1996, she continued her education from Sterling Health Center in Addison, Texas. Emma focused her abilities in sports therapy and chronic pain to help the many people from all walks of life.
Emma's goal is to help you realize the benefits of massage. Massage Therapy has helped thousands of people with headaches, muscle discomfort, fibromyalgia, and anxiety, sleep disorders just to name a few. No two therapists are alike and sometimes finding the right touch is a journey of trial and error. In the 20 years she has been a therapist she has over 25,000 hours of experience to help you.
On your first visit, you will need to come 10 minutes early to fill out appropriate paperwork. Your massage session will focus on the therapy you need based on the areas you want worked on the most. Everyone has different levels of pain, and you will need to communicate what is comfortable and not comfortable and let your therapist know. This will enable your session to be more enjoyable.
After your massage you might feel a little light headed or sluggish for a short time. If you have never had a massage or haven't had a massage in a long time, you might be a little sore in areas the next day. This will pass usually within 24 hours. Remember to drink lots of water after your session as this helps replenish your cells and flush toxins from your system. Massage can be a light workout for your body especially if you aren't very active. Depending on the therapy you requested it is best to ease yourself back into massage and start light and go with stronger or deeper sports massage over time.
Take it easy after your session and pamper yourself. You will enjoy the benefits longer!
